Founded in 1931 by Henri Levy-Ullmann, the Institut de droit comparé welcomes faculty members, researchers and students from all over the world and from all legal cultures. Attached to the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, the Institut de droit comparé (IDC) is committed to the teaching and researching in comparative law. Thierry Bonneau, Professor at the University Panthéon-Assas, is the current Director.
As teaching institution, the Institut de droit comparé is home to several Master and LLM degrees for students either with French or foreign legal education. All degrees enable our students to develop a thorough knowledge in comparative law or European law. Courses are taught by professionals, professors or lecturers from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, and from partner universities from all continents: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America.
